As Managing Director of South Suez Capital, Mr. Rogel is responsible from his base in Mauritius, for overseeing the investment team’s activities. This covers the sourcing of investments, the investment pipeline and due diligence processes, and the monitoring of existing investments and their underlying companies. Mr. Rogel has 9 years professional experience, specialising in corporate and contract law with particular focus on advising public, private and venture capital companies on deal structuring, shareholder matters, corporate litigation, liquidations and insolvency inquiries. Mr. Rogel also has extensive experience in acquisitions and joint ventures, advisory as well as the enforcement of judgments in foreign jurisdictions. He is an admitted attorney and Notary Public in South Africa with right of appearance in the High Court. Mr. Rogel holds a BProc with Certificates in Corporate and Labour Law.
Mr. Kirsten is Managing Director of Edge Investments an Investment Management Company with assets in excess of ZAR 6 billion under management. He has extensive experience in both identifying and performing due diligence on single strategy fund managers, as well as in-depth experience in the running of funds. Mr. Kirsten began his career as an equity dealer at Investec and went on to head up the Private Client Division, managing segregated portfolio with specialised domestic and international mandates. In 1999 he left Investec to co-found Edge Investments and Edge Multi Management with Harry Viljoen. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Kirsten managed retirement portfolios at Edge Multi Management with local and international assets in excess of ZAR2 billion. Mr. Kirsten holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Science (Honours) and a Dip.Soc (Oxford University).
Mr. Todd is the Financial Controller at South Suez Capital and is based in Mauritius. He began his professional career in South Africa in 2006 when he joined RSM Betty & Dickson, where he completed his accounting articles and went on to become an Audit Manager before leaving in 2009. Mr. Todd holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, an Honors Degree in Management and a Higher Diploma in Tax.
Mr. Elliott is Managing Director of All Seasons Capital Management in Mauritius, a leading emerging market alternative strategy manager. Mr. Elliott joined Beacon Capital Management in the British Virgin Islands as a senior fund accountant in 2003, subsequently spearheading the team. Prior to that, he worked as a management accountant in South Africa. He joined Edge Capital in South Africa in 2006 as an analyst responsible for onshore manager research and due diligence. In 2007, Mr. Elliott was appointed Managing Director of All Seasons Capital Management in Mauritius and is ultimately responsible for all investment decisions across all funds. Mr. Elliott holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce.
Mr. Schroenn is currently lead portfolio manager of a Kura Capital, a listed equities fund manager investing across the African continent. He was previously with Peregrine Capital, SA’s (South Africa’s) oldest and largest Hedge Fund. Mr. Schroenn was Head of Research for 4 years at African Alliance Securities, rolling out sell-side research products to support the company’s stock broking businesses. He also worked on a number of private equity deals. Mr. Schroenn joined Bear Stearns in 2000 as an EU and Latam telco analyst (2000–2004).
Mr. Schroenn has 15 years of professional experience, 8 are in Africa ex SA. He is a qualified chartered accountant CA (SA) and registered with the FSA (UK).
Mr. Barr Jason is the Managing Director of Schindlers Trust Mauritius Limited, where he resides. Mr., Barr began his professional career in London in 1999. He joined the Schindlers Group (a global trust management organisation) in 2000 and was subsequently appointed as a director to various international companies within the Schindlers Group. Mr. Barr was granted permission in 2006, by the Mauritius government, to act as director of Schindlers Trust Mauritius Limited, a professional corporate trustee which is licensed to establish Mauritius entities, to act in a fiduciary capacity and to administer the assets of third parties.. Mr. Barr holds a Bachelors degree in finance and accounting with honours in finance and is qualified as a certified “Trust and Estate Practitioner” with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Mr. Juanbaccus held various positions such as clerical officer at the Ministry of Agriculture and Income Tax Department in Mauritius and court officer and secretary to a Judge of the Supreme Court in Mauritius, before qualifying as a Barrister of Law in 1992. Mr. Juanbaccus was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius in 1994 and went on to practise in areas such as Insurance Law, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Administrative Law and Labour Law. His experience in this field also includes appearing before all Courts of Mauritius including the Supreme Court as well as appearing before the Privy Council in England. Mr. Juanbaccus is also a former Chairman of the National Transport Authority in Mauritius.
Mr. Neermaull joined South Suez Capital as an Analyst at in 2011. He started his career as Administrative Assistant at Multiconsult Ltd, an Offshore Management Company in Mauritius. In 2005, he joined the British American Investment Group, one of the largest investment groups in Mauritius and where, as Assistant Vice President, he acquired experience related to the due diligence investment recommendations, monitoring and valuation of listed and private companies. He holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Medical Sciences, a Masters Degree in International Financial Analysis from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from the UK Society of Investment Professionals and is currently completing Level 3 of the Chartered Financial Analyst Programme.
