Cephas Pfende

Mr Pfende is the Managing Director of South Suez Advisory (Pty) Ltd, a South African-based advisory company to South Suez Capital. Mr. Pfende began his career in 2001 as an equity trader at Continental Securities Trading, which was the stock market broking arm of NMB Bank Limited, a leading investment bank in Zimbabwe. Thereafter, he moved to New Africa Securities, where he headed up the Equity Sales and Trading desk for the firm until his move to South Africa, where he joined STANLIB Asset Management as a Client Relationship Manager. Mr. Pfende then moved to Nexus Asset Management, a hedge fund business, where was appointed Director of the Structured Products Division after which he joined R&B asset management as a Fund Specialist. Mr. Pfende holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Finance and Economics).

Carlo Dickson

Mr. Dickson is a director of South Suez Advisory (Pty) Ltd and the CEO of Hedgehog Capital, South Africa's first fully focused Hedge Fund Incubation platform and Fund Management Company

Mr. Dickson has extensive experience in identifying and performing due diligence on both hedge fund and private equity fund managers, covering a broad range of strategies. Mr. Dickson completed his chartered accounting articles at Moores Rowland (now Mazars) where he was a senior member of the corporate finance team, covering mergers and acquisitions, purchase an acquisition valuations, fair and reasonable submitted to SRP and Private Equity transaction due diligence.

Mr. Dickson holds a Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Accounting & Finance and is also a Qualified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Catherine Swanepoel

South Suez advisory

Ms Swanepoel has 9 years of professional experience and is a Senior Portfolio Manager at South Suez Advisory (Pty) Ltd, a South African-based advisory company to South Suez Capital. Prior to joining South Suez, Ms Swanepoel was an Investment Manager in the Africa team at CDC, a leading private equity investor in the Emerging Markets with over 140 private equity funds in its portfolio. During her time at CDC, Ms Swanepoel was responsible for performing due diligence on new fund investments as well as for monitoring the performance of existing funds within the portfolio. Prior to that Ms Swanepoel spent 4 years in the Investment Banking division at Goldman Sachs, predominantly in transaction execution for private equity clients. Ms Swanepoel holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honours) in Economics and a Masters of Commerce in Economics, both from the University of Cape Town.
